Leica rebrands Panasonic LF1 as C Type 112

September 09, 2013

Leica has been known to rebrand Panasonic's LX line of cameras with the red dot; now, the LF1 is joining the ranks as the Leica C (Type 112). Read on for more details on the new model, designed in part by Audi (yes, that Audi)!

Hardware wise, you get the same 12 megapixel 1/1.7 inch sensor and 20-200mm f/2-5.9 Leica branded lens as the LF1, as well as the identical tiny 200k dot EVF and 3 inch 920k dot LCD. It's also got all sorts of great modern camera features like Wi-Fi and NFC.

Color configurations come in the form of light gold or dark red. Yep, you'll have to go with Panny if you want a black one. Like most Leicas, you'll get a copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to go with your fancy new camera.

Availability in the UK starts in September for £550 with a US release yet to be announced.
